Marlborough Enduro MTB 3 hour and 6 hour

             



This event is for everyone who owns a mountain bike!

The setting is the Wither Hills Farm Park and we will be utilizing the fabulous mountain bike and walking tracks located at the farm. Thats only if the tracks are dry. If not there will be an alternative course set for the day


Sunday 9 June

3 and 6 Hour Enduro

This is an endurance event for both individuals and teams and the different time options available will cater for families, social and business teams.  

There will also be a category for individuals to compete at the 3 hour and 6 hour options.

Enduro Format
There will be areas set aside at the venue for the 3 hour and 6 hour riders to "set up camp". These two areas will be made up of separate tent sites where teams and or individuals can  set themselves up for the entire time they are competing. See plan below. The sites will be big enough to erect a 3m x 3m tent and park an average size vehicle. The idea behind the sites is so there is an area that riders can stop every time they complete a lap. This will allow them to take on food, water or if riding as a team can change riders. Remember that once the cars are parked they must remain in place to the completion of the event. The sites for the 3 hour event will be able to be dismantled at the completion of that particular event and cars driven off site.

The whole idea is to complete as many laps as possible in the given time riders have chosen to be in whether it be 3 hours or 6 hours. If an individual or team rider makes the finish line before the 3 or 6 hour period is up that rider or team will be allowed to complete another lap.  The winning individual or team will be calculated by the number of laps they do.  If a team or individual rider finishes with the same number of laps it will be the quickest time for that total number of laps that determines the winners and place getters. 

Results: Here they are from 2011, if you don't feature then start planning to be a part of the event in 2012.

The Venue



3 Hour Course: 3 hour option is  approximately 6km long, a relatively flat loop  course running clockwise from the start of the walkway around the base of the Wither Hills. This is perfect for beginners, families and corporate teams and individuals.



6 Hour Course: 6 hour option is just over 9km of testing mountain biking around the lower and upper slopes of the Wither Hills Farm Park. Can be raced as an individual or team. The maximum climb height is to 200m but is considered very easy on well formed tracks and perfect for this type of event. The descents are down the mountain bike park and take in the newly formed single tracks with some neat berms and switch backs.  Check out the course and profile below.
